the creative process

all artmaking is done in house, by hand.

  • a lively back-and-forth to determine concept, execution, inspiration, and feeling. we compare our references and sketches to see if they play nicely, eventually merging perspectives in the final iteration

  • upwards of 10 hours goes into each garment.

The illustrative stitches are loosely sketched out and then sewn over, effectively using the sewing machine as a drawing tool.

artist-grade fabric ink is used to paint impasto-like brushstrokes, which is later heat-set for durability. each painted piece is one of a kind and unreplicable

custom dye colors are mixed to compliment the energy

  • have a special name, date, or number you’d like to include on a garment? send us a message and we’ll work with you to make it even more personalized

“Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.”
